Enterprise master data

Master data are defined as basic information required by the Federal Administration for its business operations. The Federal Statistical Office keeps two enterprise registers which contain master data from enterprises: the Business and Enterprise Register (BER) and the Unique Enterprise Identification Number Register (UID register). The two enterprise registers provide enterprise master data to the administration through various channels. The master data of “enterprises”, “legal units” and “local units (businesses)” are managed in the BER while the UID register only contains the enterprise master data of “legal units”.
