Construction of a SNP Fingerprinting Database and Population Genetic Analysis of Cinnamomum cassia Presl Germplasm

Cinnamomum cassia Presl is a tropical aromatic evergreen tree of the Lauraceae family, commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine. Cinnamomum cassia Presl is an evergreen tropical aromatic tree of the Lauraceae family, commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine. It is also a traditional spice used throughout the world. In recent years, variety identification has become a common problem in the preservation of germplasm resources, which has brought great inconvenience and uncertainty to the cataloging and preservation of germplasm resources, the selection of parental breeding, and the promotion and utilization of high-quality varieties. In this study, we performed genotyping sequencing (GBS) on 71 C. cassia germplasm to develop SNP markers. After filtering, a total of 1,387,213 high quality SNPS were obtained. We used SNPS for principal component analysis (PCA), population structure and phylogenetic tree analysis of 71 C. cassia.
