Statistics of Ocean Current in 1 degree Mesh

This product is a summary of statistical analyses (by month in 1 degree ) of surface ocean current data from GEK (Geomagnetic Electrkinetograph) and ADCP (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler) data in the Japan adjacent seas. The data used are for 1953 to 1994. A screen shows statistics of a month at a level in 11 degrees by 11 degrees in latitude and longitude around the selected point. It includes mean speed (upper), mean current direction (arrow) and number of samples (lower) in the grid. Maximum and minimum current and stability for the grid indicated by red square are also displayed below the map.
