Are LINERS Powered by Advection-Dominated Accretion Flows

We propose a 15 ks observation of the LINER galaxy NGC 1052. Our goal isto provide a clean test of the AdvectionDominated Accretion Flow..model of lowaccretion rate accretion. This can be accomplished bymeasuring the profile of the Fe K\\alpha lineif it is relativisticallybroad, the disk is normal.. all the way in to its innermost rings; asignificantly narrower line would be consistent with the predictions ofthe ADAF model.
