Reproductive outcome survey data for common bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) in Barataria Bay from 2016-07-11 to 2018-07-09

During capture-release health assessments of common bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) in Barataria Bay, Louisiana from 2016-07-11 to 2017-09-21, veterinarians used ultrasound exams to identify pregnant females. To determine whether those pregnant dolphins successfully gave birth, field scientists conducted small vessel surveys approximately one year after each health assessment to find those pregnant dolphins and see whether they were accompanied by a neonate or young calf. This dataset catalogs the results of those reproductive outcome follow up surveys from 2016-2018.
