Digital Archive from a Trial Trench Evaluation at 12-26 Eastwood Road, Rayleigh, Essex, December 2020

This collection includes text, images, vector graphics, and site records from an archaeological evaluation by trial trenching on land to the rear of 12-26 Eastwood Road, Rayleigh, Essex (SS6 7JQ). The work was carried out by the Colchester Archaeological Trust between 9 December 2020 and 14 May 2024. Four trial trenches were machine-excavated in advance of the demolition of existing industrial units and the construction of two three-storey apartment blocks. The site lies adjacent to the medieval town of Rayleigh. Eleven features were recorded: six of modern date, four undated, and one natural.
