Musicianship EEG Dataset (BIDS version)
收藏资源简介:
This is the BIDS-formatted version of the Musicianship EEG Dataset (collected in 296 participants across 6 sites). Version 1 includes single-channel (Cz) frequency-following responses to a /da/ syllable (6000 trials per participant, two stimulus polarities), with participant, phenotype and per-recording metadata. The dataset was converted from the authors' processed .mat exports (Whiteford et al., 2025; doi:10.7910/DVN/SKOWNK) with permission of the original author. As with the original dataset, this dataset is licensed under CC BY-NC 4.0. How to use. Zenodo record files are flat, so the dataset is split into multiple zip archives. For the full dataset, you should download everything into one empty folder and unzip all musicianship-eeg-bids_*.zip files into it, together with the 5 loose files (README, dataset_description.json, participants.tsv, participants.json, scans.json). The result is a complete BIDS dataset (sub-* folders, phenotype/, derivatives/). The source dataset passes bids-validator 1.14 with no errors or warnings. File Contents musicianship-eeg-bids_{bu,cmu,pu,umn,ur,uwo}.zip the sub-* folders for each site (EDF data, events, sidecars) musicianship-eeg-bids_phenotype-and-derivative.zip phenotype/ (melody discrimination, years of training) and derivatives/whiteford2025-ffr-metrics/ (pre-computed FFR metrics from the authors' tables) loose files dataset README, dataset_description.json, participants and scans descriptions Note: Only the da task is included. The study also recorded a second EEG task, linguistic pitch (the Mandarin word /mi3/, "rice"). It is not part of this version and will be added in Version 2. Things to know before using the data Data are single-channel (Cz) in EDF format. Data are presented in microvolts at 16.384 kHz and have already been referenced to the ears (except for 5 CMU participants, sub-cmu018/019/020/021/023, who were referenced to the mastoids). Events: da_pol-1 / da_pol-2 are the lower / higher of the two stimulus trigger codes. Which is rarefaction and which condensation is not confirmed and trigger codes differ by site. Per-recording issues from 5 sites' EEG logs are in each *_scans.tsv and eeg.json. There were no logs from the PU site. sub-uwo068: two stray entries were removed from the trigger-time list (documented in its scans.tsv; inferred by an FFR check). Seven other UWO subjects had duplicate trigger entries removed (also documented in scans.tsv). Participant totals: 74 musicians, 88 non-musicians, 134 other; 177 female, 115 male, 4 non-binary; ages 18-69. Data was collected at Boston University, Carnegie Mellon University, Purdue University, University of Minnesota, University of Rochester and Western University.
