This exhaled breath time series sample dataset was measured using a hot wire anemometer from 94 human subjects. Data description: 94 human subjects. Ten time series samples, each of 1.5 seconds from an individual. Sampling rate = 10kHz. 15000 data points in each time series sample. Code description: Written in Python 3.8.5. Filename = user_authentication_algorithms.py. It contains the parent code for performing trials of user identifications. Filename = model_building_partition.py. It contains the random forest model-building algorithm. Filename = identification_partition.py. It contains the user identification algorithm. Ethics statement: 94 participants were recruited to take part in this study, following the ethical approval from the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India (IITM - IEC Protocol No. IEC/2018-03/MP/01). The participants were students of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. Their age ranged from 21 to 27 years. Data were collected only once (one set of 10 breath samples) per participant. Volunteers with epileptic disorder were excluded from participation. The experimental data collection was carried out between 8th and 17th January, 2019. All volunteers who participated in this study had given their written informed consent. The recorded time series data were analyzed anonymously.
