These GIS data show potential or developing locations of desalination plants in Massachusetts as reported in public media or state/federal regulatory filings as of June 2006. Data are preliminary and/or speculative based on published reports in the media, proceedings from local meetings, studies by private contractors and regulatory filings with Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. The data are general in nature and should not be interpreted as representing the actual footprint of proposed or under development desalinization facilities.
