资源简介:
This dataset contains the raw length measurements of four species caught in a paired gears experiment testing a LowFlow trawl codend concept against a non-selective Control trawl. The LowFlow codend included tarpaulin elements to reduce the flow velocity and facilitate species escapement through a gap in the net. Two configurations of the LowFlow codend were tested against the same Control: one configuration with a radial escape gap of 1.5 m and one with a smaller escape gap of 1.0 m. The aim of the study was to investigate species-specific differences in escapement rate, which could relate to flow refuging behaviours. Species ID follows international standards with FAO 3-letter codes: NEP = Nephrops norvegicus, COD = Gadus morhua, HAD = Melanogrammus aeglefinus, WHG = Merlangius merlangus. The dataset was collected as part of the project MatRedEx (1) funded by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) and the Danish Fisheries Agency. All information regarding gears, fishing area and fishing dynamics, as well as results for the three Gadoids species, can be found here: Melli, V., O'Neill, F.G., Breddermann, K., Kofoed, J.P., Karlsen J.D.
