资源简介:
ow and why does evolution repeat itself in similar environments? Instances of convergent and parallel evolution provide the opportunities to address this question and facilitate the discovery of common rules of organismal diversification. Specifically, the ciclid fishes of lakes Malawi and Tanganyika provide some of the most iconic examples of convergent and parallel evolution. Here we sequence approximately twenty individuals each from twenty Lake Tanganyika species (~400 individuals in total) at 15X coverage on Illumina HiSeq X. We are selecting the Tanganyika species on the basis of being the clearest counterparts to Lake Malawi fishes previously sequenced at the Sanger Institute, thus complementing the existing dataset and opening the possibility of address new questions regarding the molecular basis of phenotypic convergence between the lakes.
