资源简介:
Environmentally-induced changes in gene expression can facilitate adaptation to habitats with variable environments. However, different evolutionary lineages may adopt different patterns of gene expression plasticity when independently invading the same ecosystem, resulting in divergent evolution in gene expression plasticity. In this experiment we investigated whether five species of shrimps that represent at least three separate invasions of the anchialine ecosystem have similar or disparate patterns of gene expression in their gills during salinity transfers. Anchialine habitats represent coastal environments characterized by spatial and temporal fluctuations in salinity, making the ability to respond to variable salinity an important adaptation in anchialine organisms. The data associated with this project represent the sequence resources used to investigate gene expression during salinity transfer.
