PARR-TB

Precision Action for Rifampicin-Resistant Tuberculosis (PARR-TB) is a sub-study under the Genomic surveillance to control pathogen infections in Africa (GenPath Africa) consortium (https://www.genpath-africa.org/). PARR-TB uses next-generation sequencing (NGS) to characterize current and emerging drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) strains. The results inform efforts to improve detection and guide strategies for managing and controlling DR-TB through precision medicine and precision public health approaches. It designs and implements a strategy within a cohort study to evaluate individualized treatment regimens for patients diagnosed with DR-TB in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.
