Global CO2 fluxes derived from NISMON-CO2 and satellite XCO2

This dataset provides global posterior CO2 fluxes estimated with the top-down inversion framework NISMON-CO2, constrained by satellite column-averaged dry-air mole fraction of atmospheric CO2 (XCO2) observations. NISMON-CO2 combines the NICAM-based transport model (NICAM-TM) with a four-dimensional variational (4D-Var) data assimilation system, in which surface fluxes are optimized using a quasi-Newtonian scheme. The dataset covers the period from 2010 to the present and is suitable for analyses of intra-seasonal and inter-annual variability in CO2 fluxes.
