Active Layer measurements were taken on a 30 plot subset within the Arctic System Science (ARCSS) Grid in Barrow, Alaska. Each measurement was taken on the north eastern most corner of each plot. The chosen subset was located from E2-E6 and J2-J6. The SEL lab's long depth probe was used (orange tape on the handle). Data have been corrected by subtracting 3 cm from measurements made in the field to account for the missing tip of the probe.
