DNA sequences of the orthologs of human forensic autosomal STR loci in chimpanzees, bonobos and chimpanzees. STRs analysed are contained in the ForenSeq DNA Signature Prep Kit (Verogen). Sequences are in TSv format, suitable for downstream analysis using FDSTools. These data are described in the BioRxiv preprint 'Sequencing the orthologs of human autosomal forensic short tandem repeats provides individual- and species-level identification in African great apes' (https://doi.org/10.1101/2022.08.03.502616) and in a forthcoming paper in BMC Ecology & Evolution.
