This data layer provides a spatial data input parameter for both
groundwater and surface water modeling associated with Wyoming's
Cumulative Hydrologic Impact Assessment for coal mining activities in
the Powder River Coal Region.
Clinker regions found in the Little Thunder Creek drainage of the
Powder River Basin, 1:24000-scale. Clinker is baked and fused geologic
material generated during the combustion of a coal seam.
This dataset is currently in draft form and a revised and updated version
will be available in summer, 1998. Please see the contact for more
information.
Each area is attributed with reference to the name of the coal seam
responsible for producing the clinker. The data were originally produced
by digitizing photointerpreted clinker polygons off of 1:24,000 USGS
quadrangles.
