Week 4 lab - Field sampling training with animals Dataset 1

1 m by 1 m quadrats were randomly placed to sample insect population at the York University grasslands north of Pond Rd. All living individuals were sampled and number of snails was also included in the data. The total number of individuals was a tally of all the individual insects and snails found within the quadrat. The number of different taxonomic groups was specified using morphological differences visible to the naked eye. The number of individuals of each species of insect and snails was included to provide information as to the distribution of each species within the quadrat. 10 replicates were performed and placed randomly to prevent bias from genetic drift.
