A saturation magnetisation of ~58 emu/g, as depicted in the hysteresis loop for Fe₃O₄-Pd nanoparticles, indicates strong magnetization. Both the low remanence (∼0.5 emu/g) and low coercivity (∼10 Oe) suggest soft magnetic or superparamagnetic characteristics; they will be easily magnetised and demagnetised. Those characteristics make these nanoparticles very suitable for biomedical applications such as drug delivery and MRI in which fast and reversible magnetic variations are necessary.
