Governance index

It is computed as the arithmetical average the Government Effectiveness Index and Corruption Perception Index. The Government Effectiveness Index captures perceptions of the quality of public services, the quality of the civil service and the degree of its independence from political pressures, the quality of policy formulation and implementation, and the credibility of the government’s commitment to such policies; while the Corruption Perception Index captures the level of misuse of political power for private benefit, which is not directly considered in the construction of the Government Effectiveness Index even though interrelated.
