This project contains six complete, manually curated genomes of giant archaea elements called Borgs. Borg genomes are huge, linear, dsDNA extrachromosomal elements associated with anaerobic methane-oxidizing "Ca. Methanoperedens" archaea. The genomes were assembled and binned from metagenomic DNA that originated from different environmental sites.
