资源简介:
Records of tree hollows observed via drone- and ground- based surveys in a tropical savanna near Darwin, Australia. Data was collected to trial the use of drones to count and assess tree hollow accessibility. Includes information on tree species and diameter at breast height, as well as hollows that are 'blind' or blocked by termite mound material. Hollows are categorised by entrance diameter size (5-10 cm, 10-20 cm and >20 cm) and location on tree trunk or branch.\nLineage: Data was collected in 2022 using ground-based surveys with binoculars and live visual drone-based surveys with a DJI Mavic 3 (refer to publication for more details). \n\nRochelmeyer, E., Levick, S., Murphy, B., Stobo‐Wilson, A. & Richards, A.E. (2025) Drone‐based surveys improve estimates of tree hollow abundance and accessibility. Ecological Solutions and Evidence, 6.10.1002/2688-8319.70007
