Identification of the mutation associated with reduced seed shattering in a high-yielding indica rice cultivar 'Oonari'. Oryza sativa Indica Group

Recently, a high-yielding indica rice cultivar Oonari with moderate shattering character was developed from a mutant line of Takanari obtained by gamma ray irradiation. In this study, combining whole genome sequencing of a bulk of F3 lines with the same shattering degree to that of Oonari, and their parents, i.e., Oonari and Takanari, we identified a mutation associated with reduced seed shattering.
