Time course profiling of the transcriptome of Clostridium?kluyveri?DSM555

Clostridium?kluyveri?DSM555 is typical caproate-producing bacteria utilizing ethanol and acetate as preferred carbon source. In this study, the time course profiling of the transcriptome of C. kluyveri?DSM555 was investigated at?the?early?exponential?phase,?the?middle?exponential?phase, the?transition?phase?and the stationary?phase?of?cell?growth.?From the transcriptome data, the key enzymes involved in caproate synthesis and ethanol utilization can be inferred. And the metabolic regulation in the time-course of caproate fermentation can also be examined.
