资源简介:

This dataset is the result of data acquired by Alessia Coccato (University of Oxford), Germana Barone and Paolo Mazzoleni (Università di Catania) and of the development of data processing tools in collaboration with Ryan Heuser and J. Miguel Monteiro Vieira (King’s College London) in the framework of the Crossreads project funded by the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme Grant agreement No. 885040 (PI Jonathan Prag, University of Oxford). pXRF spectra were acquired on the inscriptions as detailed in the "Logbook": for each object, different areas were tested (in triplicate, if possible), and each area was generally subjected to two separate analyses, with two different sets of instrumental parameteres (M/MK and t). The ISic codes refer to the online repository I.Sicily I.Sicily — Inscriptions of Ancient Sicily. The pXRF files were processed in PyMCA 5.8.0 [Solé et al 2007] using configuration files adapted to the Bruker Tracer IV-SD instrument and to the instrumental parameters, to obtain mass fractions. For correction of the PyMCA mass fractions, standards whose compositions are in the file "Standards" were analysed and processed in the same way as the ISic spectra. Regression curves were calculated, and the "PyMCA" mass fractions corrected according to them, using the coefficients and ranges in the "Coefficients" file, to obtain "corrected values" [Heuser et al 2026]. Furthermore, the "corrected values" are available with their "Logbook" descriptions, and averaged accordingly. The digital tools and more details on the analytical techniques are available at https://github.com/kingsdigitallab/crossreads-petrography
