Resveratrol Augments Infliximab Efficacy in Dextran Sulfate Sodium-Induced Colitis by Modulating Gut Microbiota and Microbial Metabolism

The therapeutic outcomes of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are closely linked to the composition of the gut microbiota. Although tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors, such as infliximab (IFX), can improve clinical outcomes, non-responders usually do not exhibit significant microbiota restoration. Resveratrol (RSV) enhances gut barrier function in IBD, possibly through microbiota modulation. This study investigates the combined effects of RSV and IFX on gut microbiota and their related metabolites in a dextran sulfate sodium-induced colitis model.
