Emission monitoring device (34) for monitoring the concentration of at least one volatile substance which is emitted by at least one workpiece (12， 18)， wherein the emission monitoring device (34) is in a plant (10) for the production of the at least one workpiece ( 12， 18)， characterized in that the emission monitoring device (34) has at least one measuring device (38) for measuring at least one measured concentration variable， which characterizes the concentration of at least one volatile substance， - at least one evaluation device (48) with which at least one concentration measurement variable can be correlated with at least one concentration value from a reference measurement， and the concentration of the at least one volatile substance can be determined with the aid of the correlation， wherein the correlation between the at least one measured concentration variable and the at least one concentration value is predetermined.
