This study has the goal of sequencing the miRNome of diabetic individuals exhibiting or not complications. Besides providing information regarding the posttranscription gene regulation, the study has the potential to unveil markers associated with diabetes and diabetes complications, propitiating the selection of patients for whom the intensification of patient care should be encouraged since the beginning of diabetes. Notably, diabetic and even pre-diabetic patients may exhibit diabetes complications.
