Hidden players in microhabitat of vector beetle recruit specific endophyte to promote host plant resistance for pinewood nematode

Five bacteria strains deriving from the pupal chamber of vector beetles showed an inhibitory effect on the reproduction of pinewood nematode (PWN) . This inhibition resulted from the recruitment of endophytic Bacillus spp. in plant xylem by these bacterial species that exhibited strong nematocidal activities and PWN reproduction repression.
