Galesburg Henderson Street Subarea

As a part of the 2019 City of Galesburg Comprehensive Plan, a detailed plan was developed for the Henderson Street corridor. This plan established a vision and provided more specific recommendations for this critical commercial area of the City. It further broke the Downtown into four geographic areas or frames: North includes the heaviest commercial uses with stand-alone restaurants, strip malls and stand-alone stores. It has strong regional access via US 34 and US 150. Central is marked with residential and commercial uses, establishing it as a transition zone. It is available for additional commercial uses as development pushes South. South is characterized by opportunities for innovative development and redevelopment, bounded on three sides by heavy industrial uses.
