Dickeya sp. ws52 Genome sequencing and assembly

Dickeya sp. WS52 was isolated from the soft rotten stem of tobacco plant as a plant pathogen. Due to the capability of lignocellulose degradation, especially the lysis of pectin, this strain has the potential to dispose solanaceae crop stalk, such as sweet pepper and tomato stalk, which was abundantly produced in greenhouse in the north of china. To meet the needs of sustainable agriculture and animal production, the fermented stalk can be used to feed animals and higher activity of pectinase would be identified and used as feed additives.
