U.S. adult opinions on paying reparations to slave descendants in 2019 by income

In a 2019 survey, 21 percent of those who earned between forty and eight thousand U.S. dollars per year strongly supported the idea of paying financial reparations to U.S. citizens descended from slaves, while 41 percent of those who earned over eighty thousand dollars per year were strongly opposed the idea. Generally, responses for and against the idea were fairly similar across the three income brackets, although high earners were most opposed to the idea, while middle income respondents showed most support, and those who earned less than forty thousand dollars per year were less likely to know their opinion on the matter.
