NRS-15734 | Associate's bench notes from the Special Commission of Inquiry into the Glenbrook Rail Accident

These handwritten notes by the Associate to Acting Justice Peter McInerney relate to evidence given during the direction hearings and public hearings of the Special Commission of Inquiry into the Glenbrook Rail Accident. The front of both notebooks contain an index arranged chronologically by date for each hearing day and gives the folio number range. The notes are arranged chronologically and outline in point form the Commission’s proceedings. They include details such as time, exhibit number, witness name, when the court adjourned, and may include a brief description of what transpired.Although the majority of information is handwritten, there are typescript lists containing names of those appearing before the Commission on a particular day. The second notebook also includes notes taken during the Coronial Inquest conducted by Acting Justice Peter McInerney on 30 April 2001 into the deaths of the seven victims of the rail accident.The series also includes two Associate’s record of proceedings forms.
