Successful without sex - the enigmatic biology and evolutionary history of coralroot bittercress (Cardamine bulbifera, Brassicaceae)

In order to study the relationships between C. bulbifera and its relatives and to test for polyploidy origin evolving hybridization, all woodland Cardamine species in Europe which are considered as Dentaria in the past will be selected as potential parental species. Total genomic DNA will be sequenced on an Illumina HiSeq platform. We will use the NGS sequencing data for a series of phylogenetic and population dynamic analysis.
