Mycobacterium Avium Complex Infection in an Immunocompetent HIV-negative Patient

Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) organisms are opportunistic pathogens which cause high mortality in immunocompetent patients. The diagnosis of MAC-related diseases can be challenging as the manifestations are often unspecific, particularly in patients without risk factors. Here, we submit Next-Generation Sequencing results of an immunocompetent HIV-negative young male with MAC-caused disseminated infection. The sample for sequencing was derived from spleen.
