VPRS 11982 Papers of Ernest R.Pitt, Member of the Superannuation Board of Victoria

This series is a collection of general correspondence and documents from the Superannuation Board and Mr Ernest R Pitt. Mr Pitt was appointed as a librarian with the Public Library in 1900 and became Chief Librarian in 1931. He was a member of the Superannuation Board from 1929 to 1935.The Superannuation Board of Victoria (VA 1023) was established in 1925 and was responsible for superannuation and pension schemes for public servants, railway employees and teachers. Mr Pitts position on the Board was as a representative of officers other than railway officers.The files contain minutes of the Boards meetings, many annotated with amendments to Superannuation Acts, annual reports, pension claims and notes of subsequent investigations carried out by Mr Pitt. It also contained general correspondence created and received by Mr Pitt.
