Site Images and GIS Data from an Archaeological Evaluation at Breach Farm, Exning, Suffolk, 2021 to 2022

This collection consists of site images and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation at Breach Farm, Exning, Suffolk. Works were conducted by Cotswold Archaeology between August and October 2021, during which a total of 442 trenches were excavated. A further 43 trenches, located in areas initially unavailable, were later excavated in February 2022. The evaluation demonstrated very low levels of evidence for previous activity across the entire 70 hectare site as only a limited number of archaeological features were encountered. Features primarily comprised ditches, presumably cut for land drainage and boundary marking, and occasional pits. The majority of the features are likely to be post-medieval in date. A small number of narrow ditches recorded in an area of slightly higher ground in the northern corner of the site could be components of a prehistoric or Roman field system.
