From Pages per Day to Books per Year: A Dataset of Reading Behavior from StoryGraph

This dataset contains anonymized, user-year–level reading statistics collected from publicly accessible StoryGraph profiles. Each record corresponds to a single user in a single calendar year and includes the total number of books read, the total number of pages read, and the average number of pages read per day for that year.

To ensure a homogeneous measure of reading behavior, all user-years with any recorded audiobook listening activity were excluded. User identifiers were replaced with numerical IDs to preserve anonymity.

The dataset was constructed to study the empirical relationship between average daily reading volume (pages per day) and annual book completion (books per year). It enables reproducible analysis of reading pace, book completion rates, and aggregate reading behavior at scale.

The dataset contains 14,998 user-years spanning multiple calendar years and is intended for non-commercial academic research and educational use.
