资源简介:
This dataset compiles epidemiological, clinical, and health-economic data on obesity and type 2 diabetes in Latin America for the period 2000–2024. It includes country-level prevalence rates for 18 nations, mortality statistics from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/OPS), direct healthcare costs per patient (SEARO/IDF), national health expenditure data, and time-series on BMI trends across adult populations. Key sources include IDF Diabetes Atlas (editions 4–10), PAHO ENLACE platform, World Bank Health Nutrition data, and national epidemiological bulletins. The dataset covers Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela. Particular attention is given to the 2010–2024 acceleration in diabetes incidence (regional average: 10.8% prevalence by 2024 per IDF), urban-rural disparities, comorbidity with hypertension and cardiovascular disease, and the projected economic burden estimated at USD 59 billion annually for the region (IDF, 2023).
