Role Of Ekiti Fm 89.6 In Promoting Malaria Awareness in Ado-Ekiti

This study examines the role of Ekiti FM in promoting malaria awareness and prevention among residents of Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria. Using surveys and interviews with 300 residents, Ekiti FM staff, and health professionals, the research found that the station significantly increased knowledge and influenced preventive behaviors such as the use of insecticide treated nets and timely health seeking practices. While challenges like limited airtime and language barriers were identified, Ekiti FM remains a trusted medium for health communication. The study recommends bilingual programming, improved community engagement, and stronger collaboration with health agencies to enhance impact.
