This dataset supports a comparative analysis of the spatial distribution of amateur football pitches and influencing factors in Chengdu and Greater London. It includes:(1) amateur football pitche data screening and descriptive statistics for Chengdu and Greater London, including field verification and the inclusion process for Chengdu;(2) policy document-based data used to calculate the Policy Support Index (PSI);(3) the GeoDetector input dataset used for statistical analysis, including variables related to football facilities, socioeconomic conditions, and policy support. All data necessary to replicate the findings reported in the article are provided in these files.
