Microbial community in Jiaozhou Bay sediment biofilm (PRJCA016112)

The intertidal sediment environment is a complex and dynamic ecosystem, and the biofilm microbial community is an essential part of this environment. However, knowledge of the differences in the biofilm microbial community in sediments of different types is still limited. In our study, we used high-throughput 16S/18S rRNA gene sequencing to describe the structure of the microbial community in Jiaozhou Bay sediment biofilm and to investigate the effects of temporal changes and sediment environment on it. Overall, our results highlighted the importance of substrate type and temporal change in shaping microbial community structure in intertidal sediments. Our study has important implications for ecological conservation and management strategies in intertidal sediment environments.
