Iron is an essential nutrient for animal growth and development, and it is also a component of various enzymes in the organism. It participates in various biochemical reactions and plays important roles in promoting animal growth and development, enhancing antioxidant capacity, and improving immune performance. Young animals are more prone to iron deficiency than adults, leading to anemia, decreased immunity, metabolic disorders, and even death in severe cases. Therefore, in animal production, timely and effective iron supplementation to young animals is very important. Non-heme iron can be divided into inorganic iron and organic iron according to different ligand types. Inorganic iron sources represented by ferrous sulfate are the most common iron supplements. Ferrous sulfate is cheap and easy to produce, but it has many shortcomings: Iron ions have a stimulating effect on the gastrointestinal mucosa, antagonize with other elements to reduce the absorption effect, and accumulate in the body to easily produce toxic side effects. These deficiencies limit the use of inorganic iron. More and more studies have proved that compared with inorganic iron sources, organic iron sources have many advantages: one is high biological titer, which is more conducive to the absorption of animals; It has good synergy with other ingredients in food and feed, and does not affect the absorption of other trace elements and vitamins; fourth, it is environmentally friendly. Studies have shown that yeast is an ideal carrier of trace elements. Through biological fermentation technology, yeast absorbs a large amount of iron during the process of proliferation and binds it to the organic components in the cell, so that iron in the inorganic state can be converted into iron. Organic iron improves the utilization efficiency of iron, and yeast is rich in high-quality bacterial protein and rich enzymes, which can hydrolyze starch, protein, etc. into small molecular substances that are easy to digest and absorb; mannose oligosaccharide and glucan can promote immune function, especially in young animals.
