Database Management system

Data in any form can be stored into the database. The purpose of storing the data or information into the database so it can be easily accessed, modified, protected and analysed. We may already be using databases everyday. Like Google, Facebook, whatsapp, instagram etc. As an example: suppose I need to create a simple time sheet web application. Basically this application should allow me to login through a URL and then have options to stuff details, time sheet details, student attendants, student marks etc. I may use my personal computer to develop this project. The first thing the application will need is a database to store data and retrieve the data.
