资源简介:
This dataset contains tabular files with (i) auditory data on final voiced obstruent (FVO) production by German learners and (ii) acoustic measurements of the preceding vowel duration by German learners and native speakers. The data originate from two different studies. The auditory data by Pascoe (1987) include n = 26 speakers (instructional-setting learners from southern Bavaria; age: 14-16 years), who produced a total of n = 644 tokens. These data were elicited with the re-telling of a picture story. The productions were classified as "voiceless", "devoiced", and "voiced". The acoustic data by Soenning (2020) include n = 62 German learners (instructional-setting learners from northern Bavaria; age: 11-30) and n = 26 native speakers (BrE and AmE). Two reading tasks were used for data elicitation: a word list and short carrier phrases ("I said ..., not ..."). Each subject produced n = 11 minimal pairs, which contrasted in final obstruent voicing, yielding 284 tokens (i.e. minimal pairs) for the native speakers and n = 619 tokens (i.e. word pairs) for the learners.
