CRU-JRA v2.4 (1901 - 2022) climate data bias corrected with ICOS/FLUXNET sites data

This dataset contains bias-corrected daily meteorological forcing data for FLUXNET/ICOS sites. For each site, daily records of near-surface air temperature, daily maximum and minimum temperature, wind speed, precipitation, shortwave radiation, atmospheric pressure, and relative humidity were obtained. Then, the CRU-JRA v2.4 climate dataset (Harris et al. 2020, Kobayashi et al. 2015) was bias-corrected using site observations and the ISIMIP3BASD methodology (Lange, 2019), implemented with the Python package ibicus (Spuler et al., 2024). Bias correction was performed separately for each meteorological variable using the available period of record at each site. Observed FLUXNET/ICOS meteorological data were merged with the bias-corrected forcing data over the overlapping period, ensuring that in situ observations were preserved wherever available. The dataset provides site-level daily meteorological forcing suitable for ecosystem modelling, such as LPJ-GUESS (Smith et al. 2014)
