Cryptococcus neoformans var. grubii KN99 genome sequencing and annotation

Sequencing of 30 wildtype Cryptococcus neoformans var. grubii KN99 cultures originating from the same freezer stock. This sequencing was used to create a KN99 reference genome and annotation. Also contains sequencing of 29 C. neoformans KN99 strains that underwent independent genetic transformations; of these, 6 strains are unique single gene deletions and 23 strains contain a drug resistance marker knocked in to a specific locus. Wildtype batch control genome sequencing included for 29 transformants. Transcriptome of six knock in strains was also sequenced in triplicate after growing cultures in high glucose DMEM, 5% CO2, 37 degrees Celsius for 90 minutes. A wildtype transcriptome was also sequenced in triplicate.
