16S rDNA vairable region amplicon sequencing to determine microbial identity and diversity in 7d and 20d wild-type and parkin[1] Drosophila male guts

Drosophila has the potential to be an excellent model organism for studies on the link between the gut microbiome and the brain. Here we examine a potential link between gut microbes and the Drosophila parkinsonism model parkin by sequencing amplicons of the V1V2 variable regions of microbial 16S rDNA from 7d and 20d old wild-type and parkin[1] males.
