The samples were collected from the territory of former lake "Atamanskoye". From the 1950s to the 1990s, the lake functioned as a waste collector, accumulating tons of sludge contaminated with heavy metals before eventually drying up completely. Pedogenetic processes have been occurring at the Atamanskoye territory since the end of the twentieth century and continue to the present day.Samples were aseptically taken at depths of 0 to 20 centimeters, stored at the 4 Celsium degrees during transportation, and then used for total DNA extraction and sequencing.
