To reveal the transcriptome profiles of extraradical tissues of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), RNA-seq analysis was carried out. R. irregularis, a model species of AMF, was cultured with Daucus carota hairy root. RNA was extracted from germ tubes, runner hyphae, branched absorbing structures, immature spores and mature spores. RNA-seq libraries were constructed by SMART-seq 2 method and sequenced by using HiSeq 1500.
